I saw some other websites that displayed h1-b salaries and thought it would be fun to build my own for learning. I also wanted to make it better. As someone who did not have a techincal background, building it from scratch was a valualbe experience. I still enjoy working and experimenting on this website.
I had a few iterations on the name. The site was first https://salary.ninja, then https://compbase.co, and now https://truesalary.org. I sadly lost adsense account when I changed the domain name. I am still trying to get it back on my new site. I truly hope this site is useful for your job search and learning.
TrueSalary aggregates compensation records from public sources, including:
U.S. Department of Labor filings associated with H-1B and related work authorization processes.
Public salary disclosures from the State of California.
Public records can contain inconsistent employer names, job titles, locations, and compensation fields. TrueSalary organizes those records to make them easier to search and compare, but the underlying source data may still include omissions or reporting differences.
